The Jeff Pershing Band radiates a playful and positive energy. The band
combines uplifting lyrics with improvisations influenced by rock, funk, blues,
Latin jazz, Afro pop, and reggae. Even non-dancers feel free to shake
themselves of inhibitions when they hear the irresistible grooves of the Jeff
Pershing Band. Jeff is currently teaching guitar at Butte College, Chico CA.
Jeff Pershing, singer/songwriter/guitar player, started playing San Francisco
clubs at the age of 16. He has honed his skills as a working musician, playing
diverse styles. Pershing studied music at San Francisco State University,
Berklee College of Music in Boston, and received a Master's Degree in Music
at California State University, Chico.
Jeff has toured the Northwestern U.S., and performed in Mexico, Central
America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Pershing has opened for Albert King, Greg
Allman, Chris Issak, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Buffalo Springfield, The
Ventures, Elvin Bishop, and many others.
From 2006 - 2008 the Jeff Pershing Band has had three consecutive
nominations for a CAMMIE (Chico Area Music) Award for best world music band.
